Season Two Episode Two

The second season of The Playhouse continues as Doris is reconnected with a long-lost love. A new artistic director takes over the Mishawaka Playhouse. Rock is pushed aside in favor of the new artistic director. The battle for control of the Playhouse begins.

Season Two Premiere!

The Season Two Premiere of The Playhouse is finally here! The residents of The Mishawaka Playhouse have reluctantly gathered for Roger's memorial where two surprise visitors interrupt the proceedings and deliver a couple of shocking revelations. New cast member April Audia takes over the role of Doris Del Monaco and Aileen-Marie Scott joins the cast as Mona Montrose.

It's A Wrap!

We wrapped principal photography on Season Two today. It's gonna be great! Awesome, funny, crazy performances by a talented cast of divas and comedy all stars.
Can't wait to go through all the footage and start putting the finishing touches on this season. Episode One is almost done and editing on Episode Two begins this weekend. Season two premieres in early November. Stay tuned here for more details.

Hey All!

It's been a few weeks since we've posted any news! Where has the time gone? Well we've been busy filming and we are currently on a short break re-fueling. Filming will be complete later this month and the first episode is in the editing bay as we speak.

In the meantime, if you are in the Los Angeles area you have an opportunity to see Adam Bucci Rock Del Monaco) live on stage. He is in the new musical JustinLove opening at The Celebration Theatre in West Hollywood September 22. Performances are Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00pm and Sundays at 2:00pm

Season Two Continues

Well we have been busy working on Season Two for the last few weekends and are now two-thirds of the way done. We have a wonderful crew joining our cast this year. And the cast has expanded to include such fantastic actors. All bringing on the funny!

Joining returning cast members Tom Walz, Erin, Holt, Adam Joseph Reich, Eli Chance and Richard Van Slyke are Michael Robert Holmes, Gregory Guy Gorden, Keith Wright, Aileen Marie Scott, April Audia, Ellen Caranasos Sharp and Meghan Olsen.

We have some great stuff captured and we have been having too much fun on set. So great to be back with all these wonderfully talented people.

Season Two Filming is underway!

This past weekend, the cast and crew of The Playhouse headed down to The Silver Dream Factory studios in Anaheim to film some key hospital scenes for the second season of The Playhouse. New cast members Ellen Caranasos, Gregory Guy Gorden  and April Audia joined returning cast members Richard Van Slyke and Adam Joseph Reich to film some key scenes involving a hospital. The footage looks great and the new cast members are all welcome additions to the team.

This weekend, the main cast returns for the filming of Episodes One and Two at The Attic Theatre in Los Angeles.  Shocking twists and turns coming this fall to The Playhouse. Stay Tuned!

The Playhouse Welcomes April Audia

We can't say who she'll be playing just yet, but we will say this. One more diva in Mishawaka is one too many. Watch her go head-to-head with Aileen-Marie Scott this fall when Season Two debuts.

Originally from New York, April moved to Los Angeles and studied at LACC Theatre Academy. She has performed all through the Los Angeles area as well as regionally in Theatre productions of Dancing at Lughnasa, Moon Over Buffalo, Side Man, A Piece of My Heart, Beehive, The Rose Tattoo, Godspell, Gypsy, Grease and about seventy more!  Her TV work includes, several episodes of Disney's sketch comedy show "So Random" as well as roles in Wizards of Waverly Place, Accidentally on Purpose, Bold and the Beautiful, Andy Richter Controls the Universe and many others. Additional work includes her first film "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" to a more recent PSA for LA Poverty Organization, as well as a documentary "Questions & Actors" about life as an actor. She is currently working on the play "Push Up" at Studio A Theatre, West Valley Playhouse production of "Hanzel and Gretel" and just wrapped a short film entitled "Levittown".  She is so happy to be joining the second season of "The Playhouse Soap Opera" and can't wait to cause as much trouble as this small town can take!!

The Playhouse Welcomes Gregory Guy Gorden

Gregory Guy Gorden joins The Playhouse in Season Two as Keith Comstock. Tune in this fall to see what kind of trouble Keith stirs up in The Mishawaka Playhouse.

Gregory Guy Gorden (Keith) is thrilled to be joining the hilarious cast of The Playhouse. Gregory is a member of Sacred Fools Theater Company and has appeared in their productions of  Forbidden Zone, Carnevil, Don Giovanni Tonight...,  and many Serial Killers. Regional credits include the New York Musical Theatre Festival, Kansas City Starlight Theatre, and Houston's Theatre Under the Stars.  Past shows include Cabaret (Emcee), Footloose (Willard), Little Shop of Horrors (Orin), The Big Bang (Boyd), Top Gun! The Musical (Iceman), The Baltimore Waltz (Carl), Corpus Christi (James) & Howard Crabtree’s When Pigs Fly (Howard).  Film credits include I Want to Get Married, Bella Nubela, & Hunter4Love.  www.gregoryguygorden.com

Aileen joins the cast in Season Two as Mona Montrose.

Aileen-Marie Scott is no stranger to being a dramatic theater diva, as she was last seen as Mama Rose in Gypsy.  Other credits include Babe in The Pajama Game.  Aileen-Marie Chantilly in The Chantilly Sisters, M'Lynn in Steel Magnolias, Yvonne/Alice in Sunday in the Park with George.  Sarah in Quilters (South Bay CLO), Godspell (South Bay CLO), Flemmschen in Grand Hotel (Performance Riverside), Sally Bowles in Cabaret (Curtis Theatre), Chloe in Lips Together, Teeth Apart (Best Actress Award), Sara Jane Moore in Assassins, Mrs. Phagan in the LA Premiere of Parade, Georgie in The Full Monty, Gussie in Merrily We Roll Along, Chairy in Barnum, Beverly in The Shadow Box, Aldonza in Man of La Mancha, Amy in Company and The Bakers Wife as well as the Witch in Into the Woods.

Many thanks to all of you who have supported The Playhouse during its very first season! We're so grateful for your support/likes/comments/subscriptions... This was a pure labor of love. As more and more soap operas met the sharp edge of the program executioner's ax this year, we wanted to create a fond homage to that which makes soap so great. The crazy story lines, the wide camera angles, the squeaky floors, the dramatic camera zooms... They were all deliberately done to try and capture the tropes of this art form, an art form that is rapidly... and sadly... disappearing.

Why Vimeo? Well, we noticed that YouTube has compressed our projects quite a bit and decided that it was high time to break out of the pixelated prison we were trapped in and set our episodes free to frolic amongst the intertubes in their beautiful, crystal clear, HD glory. We're practically syndicated!

Right now, episodes 1 - 4 are up, and 5 & 6 are on their way. Even if you've seen them before, head over for the rerun to see them the way they were meant to be!
